Dr. Gaithri Ramanathan

Optometrist

​​​​​​​A NJ native, Dr. Ramanathan graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in Genetics & Microbiology. At Rutgers University she won the Duncan and Nancy Macmillan Award for Research Excellence and completed her Henry Rutgers Thesis with Highest Honors.

After graduation, she attended Salus University in Elkins Park, PA where she received her Doctor of Optometry degree. Following her doctoral studies, Dr. Ramanathan completed an additional year of training in Ocular Disease/Primary Eye Care at the Department of Veteran's Affairs, New York Harbor Healthcare System, NY. During her residency, she received advanced training in the diagnosis and management of various eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and dry eyes. She loved academics so much she decided to become a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry(FAAO).

Since graduating Dr Ramanathan has worked with optometrists, ophthalmologists, and opticians in various settings in CA and NJ. She ultimately decided to return to NJ and start her own practice to provide quality eye to all her patients at her own pace. She genuinely loves spending time with her patients and learning all about them.

Outside of the office, she enjoys being a mom to her 2 kids and spending time with her friends and family.
